Career Panels

Career Panels feature a panel of three to five speakers to share information on a company, field, or special topic related to their professional experiences and expertise. Career Panels are offered to Snider students from 8th grade through postsecondary education.

Guest Speakers

Guest Speakers highlight their respective career path, teach students about a particular employability skill, describe potential opportunities at their company or organization, offer guidance on how to navigate job searches, or provide expertise on how to compete for employment opportunities.

Career Conversations & Checkpoints

Career Conversations are meetings between the Career Success Coordinator or Alumni Advisors and Snider alumni to discuss internships and after-graduation job opportunities.

In addition to one-on-one meetings about individual alum’s professional path, first-year students must select one career-related goal and have a conversation in the spring with their Alumni Advisor on professional plans. Sophomores must do the same, as well as create a resume. Juniors must submit a cover letter and are encouraged to attend a career fair or similar career event hosted on their campus.

Our interview support resources help students build confidence, refine their communication, and prepare for various interview formats. Career Trips allow students to meet professionals across various industries and explore different work environments, while highlighting potential career paths available to students.

Students have opportunities to join a Snider stakeholder at their place of employment. Unlike a Career Trip, a Job Shadowing opportunity will provide a Snider student with a more personalized career exposure experience that will allow them to gain a deeper understanding of a respective profession.

Alumni Coaches

High school seniors are invited to apply to become a Snider Alumni Coach, where they take on increased responsibility at summer camps and lead groups of current students as paid employees, working alongside experienced staff. Alumni are encouraged to work in the after school season. This training and work experience forms the basis for future career growth.

Currently, more than half of our coaching staff is made up of former students who return to teach the core values of Snider to a new generation.
