Students have opportunities to join a Snider stakeholder at their place of employment. Unlike a Career Trip, a Job Shadowing opportunity will provide a Snider student with a more personalized career exposure experience that will allow them to gain a deeper understanding of a respective profession.

Completing an internship is a valuable experience that can lead to personal and professional growth as our alumni prepare to enter the workforce. By learning how a professional workplace operates, gaining real-world work experience, refining employability skills, networking, acquiring knowledge from those already in the workforce, and building their resume, Snider alumni will better position themselves to compete for full-time employment opportunities upon graduation.

Snider students in high school can apply to work as caddies at local golf courses through the J. Wood Platt Caddie Scholarship Trust, run by the Golf Association of Philadelphia (GAP). This opportunity allows caddies to earn a respectable wage, with the possibility of tips, and spend time outdoors getting physical activity during the spring, summer, and fall. Most importantly, caddies are able to network and build relationships with high profile golfers at the course they’re assigned. Caddies can apply to the J. Wood Platt Caddie Scholarship for college as well.

High school seniors are invited to apply to become a Snider Alumni Coach, where they take on increased responsibility at summer camps and lead groups of current students as paid employees, working alongside experienced staff. Alumni are encouraged to work in the after school season. This training and work experience forms the basis for future career growth.

Currently, more than half of our coaching staff is made up of former students who return to teach the core values of Snider to a new generation.
