The 2nd Annual Snider 3v3 Adult Hockey Tournament took place at the Wells Fargo Center on Friday, October 13. Teams were given the opportunity to compete on NHL ice and experience a Flyers game-like atmosphere with exclusive access to locker rooms, scoring on the Jumbotron, and VIP broadcasts of their games.
Thanks to the foresight of the late Ed Snider, all team registrations, sponsorships, and day-of activities were matched 2:1. Ultimately the event raised over $150,000 thanks to our our sponsors, players, and spectators.
A total of 145 players competed on 22 teams across three brackets in the tournament; Competitive, Non-Competitive, and Women’s, with four champions eventually being crowned. VIPs included Bernie Parent, who celebrated and took photos with the winning teams, Riley Cote, who played on the Nasty Knuckles Competitive Team, Flyers PA announcer Lou Nolan, who announced the championship rounds, and Flyers Anthemist Lauren Hart, who sang the National Anthem before the Competitive Bracket’s championship games. These guests helped create a special atmosphere, reminiscent of a Flyers game, for the competitors.
“From the minute we pulled up to the time we left. Every person working the event was amazing to be around! Having Lou Nolan announce the games and Lauren sing the anthem was absolutely awesome! Eating Dinner with Bernie was just icing on the cake, something I will never forget!”
