Snider community gathers for spring events, raises money for After School Excellence Program

Members of our community spent the spring supporting Snider in unique ways across four events! The Aeron Chair Hockey Tournament, Snider 3v3 Adult Ice Hockey Tournament, NHL Playoff Fantasy Draft, and Celebrity Bartending Event combined to raise over $282,000 for Ed Snider Youth Hockey & Education.

Aeron Chair Hockey Tournament

Premier Environments hosted the Aeron Chair Hockey Tournament benefiting Snider in Center City Philadelphia on April 3.

Players compete in the Aeron Chair Hockey Tournament.

Teams competed in a double elimination bracket with mini hockey sticks while rolling around in office chairs. Congratulations to D2 Group, who took home the trophy in this year’s competition! Along with the action on the “ice,” attendees honored Snider supporter and Flyers Legend Bernie Parent, who was celebrating his 80th birthday.

In total, the Aeron Chair Hockey Tournament raised $45,000 for Snider programming. Thank you to Premier Environments for their support!

3v3 Adult Hockey Tournament

Snider took over the Wells Fargo Center on April 10 for the 3rd annual Snider 3v3 Adult Hockey Tournament!

Attendees compete in one of the three tournament divisions.

18 teams across three divisions (NHL, AHL, and ECHL) competed in the tournament, playing 3 games in a round robin format before moving onto a playoff bracket. After a high-energy elimination round, a champion was crowned for each division (Neumann University, Human Robot, and Snider Pylons).

While the attendees competed in these fast-paced games, members of the Snider community, including their friends and family, cheered on the competitors from the stands and Shift4 Club. In between games, attendees were able to bid on a variety of items, play games in the Shift4 Club, or enjoy a drink from our sponsors, Human Robot and Stateside Vodka.

Thank you to the Wells Fargo Center and Aramark for hosting us for the day. The 2025 Snider 3v3 Adult Hockey Tournament raised over $75,000 for our After School Excellence Program!

NHL Playoff Fantasy Draft

The excitement of the Stanley Cup Playoffs kicked off with the annual Snider NHL Playoff Fantasy Draft, held at the Brooklyn Bowl on April 21.

Fantasy Draft attendee makes a first-round selection.

While the first round of the playoffs played in the background, 16 teams of Snider supporters built their hockey “dream teams” by drafting players participating in the Stanley Cup Playoffs. Flyers Legend Steve Coates, a mainstay at this event, returned to lead our attendees through the draft and trivia rounds during breaks.

Flyers podcast, Snow the Goalie, recorded a live podcast throughout the event, a live recording of which you can find here. After the draft, participants stuck around the Fishtown location for bowling and more inter-team competition. The fun for this event does not last just one night, however, as the competition lasts throughout the Stanley Cup Playoffs, so stay tuned for an announcement of the winner!

Fantasy Draft supporters raised over $132,000 for Snider youth!

Celebrity Bartending Event

Attendees gathered at the Great American Pub in Wayne to meet Philly sports legends and raise money for Snider.

Guest bartender Brandon Graham took the time to interact with our attendees.

A star-studded list of celebrity bartenders, including Lindy Snider, Ed Hospodar, Neil Little, Dave Spadaro, Brandon Graham, Amy Fadool, Ducis Rodgers, Glen Macnow, Joe Conklin, Jim Jackson, and Al Morganti volunteered their time to pour drinks for and chat with attendees. VIPs were not only behind the bar, however, as several other Flyers Alumni and Philly sports personalities, including Todd Fedoruk, Paul Jolovitz, Bob Kelly, Bill Meltzer, Lou Nolan, Bernie Parent, and Joe Watson mingled with our guests!

Along with tickets and auction revenue, all bartender tips went towards the total amount raised. The 2025 Celebrity Bartending event raised $30,000 for Snider!
