5th annual Snider Cup raises $1.5 for Philadelphia student-athletes, 5-year total amount raised passes $8 million
An exciting day at Gulph Mills Golf Club on October 6 wrapped up another successful Snider Cup! This year’s tournament featured stops at Aronimink Golf Club (May 19), host of the PGA Championship in 2026, Huntingdon Valley Country Club (June 16), Overbrook Golf Club (September 15), and Gulph Mills Golf Club (October 6). The Snider Cup is the unprecedented charitable four-course golf tour championship in the Philadelphia region that was established in 2021 to raise money for Ed Snider Youth Hockey & Education (Snider). Team competition is comprised of individual one-day golf outings that take place at four of the region’s top golf clubs.

After some stiff competition at all four legs, the 2025 net winners were Loftus Construction (-66) and gross winners were Men of Iron (+8)! Along with competing for the Cup as overall winners, golfers also had the opportunity to take home prizes at each individual leg as well as individual competition holes.

Thanks to the generosity and foresight of the late Ed Snider, all donations and foursome registrations are matched 2:1. Ultimately, the 2025 tournament raised over $1.5 million for the under-resourced youth in Snider’s program.
To celebrate two important figures in the history of the Snider Cup, Snider announced two holes as permanent dedications. The hole-in-one challenge will now be named after Harry Donahue, host of Inside Golf and committed supporter of the tournament. At the fourth leg, Snider honored the Flyers legend and Snider ambassador Bernie Parent by establishing the Bernie Parent First Tee.

As the principal fundraiser for Snider, the tournament supports the vital academic achievement, hockey, life skills, scholarship, and career development programming for over 1,600 boys and girls. Since its inception in 2021, the Snider Cup raised over $8 million for Snider youth.
The Snider Cup will return in 2026 at the following stops: May 18: Gulph Mills, June 15: Huntingdon Valley, September 21: St. Davids, and October 12: Aronimink. Contact Katy Hsieh at [email protected] to reserve your foursome today!

Thank you to all tournament supporters!
